Event Description
Dr. Christine Yano from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Hawaii will give a lecture titled "Pink Globalization: Hello Kitty's Trek Across the Pacific" on Friday, October 26 from 11:45-12:50 in Emerson Auditorium. Dr. Yano's lecture will look at the transnational spread of good and images labeled kawaii (cute) from Japan to other parts of the industrial world. The lecture is open to the public and a light reception will follow.
